Our history
My brother Tom performs wedding ceremonies. In 2014 he asked for a fan to use for smudging with cedar in the weddings he conducted. Strangely, I had been finding an abundance of wild turkey feathers at that time.
In the process of making my brother his ceremonial fan, I discovered new art. Fan Making. I loved it because it is a Spiritual art. A Living Art, as my art festival friends called it.
I was hooked. Feathers became everywhere. My house became a fan building paradise. The smell of sacred herbs filled the air. Blessings abounded all around.
I went to art fairs and taught workshops. I was asked to pray at weddings and memorials. The more I prayed with these sacred plants and feathers, the more I understood there powers, their to focus us, to give, to bless.
Getting out of the way and allowing Creation to pray through me is the greatest feeling in world. It is like being in THE ZONE. Who is praying and who is the prayer? I discovered what St. Frances was talking about. Like these feathers and sacred plants, we too merely an instrument of some Greater Prayer being prayed through us into creation
